Ridgeway's Rail

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

Sun, Apr 12, 2026

7:00 AM — 11:00 AM

Leader: Duncan McClure

Join us for a trip to Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, one of Southern California’s most famous hotspots for viewing a wide variety of waterbirds, shorebirds, terns and more. We will have opportunities to find species not typically found in Los Angeles County, such as Reddish Egret, Ridgway’s Rail, and Red Knot. We will walk about 2 miles on mostly flat terrain as we bird slowly around the wetlands.

All individuals under the age of 18 participating in a LAB sponsored event must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or an adult designated as responsible for their well-being including their safety, behavior, and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations during the course of the event, program, activity, etc.

Currently signup is limited to LAB members, who will receive an email with instructions for how to sign up.
